Delia V. (Rivet) Soucy, 93, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday March 10, 2024, from Steere House in Providence RI. She was born and raised in Oakland RI. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard E. Soucy (deceased 2010). They had been married for 54 yrs. She was the daughter of the late Henry Rivet and Alma (Rondeau) Rivet. Delia was a communicant of St. Mathieu's Church, a Eucharistic minister, and taught CCD to 1st graders for 9 yrs. She worked at Hope Webbing in Pawtucket till her retirement as a hand tipper. Delia made everyone laugh with her contagious laughter. She enjoyed playing Bingo and her main hobby was crocheting with thread or yarn as you could always see her with a hook in one hand with her patterns sitting on her porch on Smithfield Ave. Lincoln RI. You could catch her listening to EWTN every morning and praying.

Delia leaves a daughter Alma M. (Soucy) Grybowski, from Central Falls, a son Henri L. Soucy and his wife Gloria (Greene) Soucy from Argyle NY and their daughter Andrea from Oregon, and her youngest daughter Monique T. (Soucy) Moran and her husband Mark in Greenville, RI. She also leaves her grandson Jason Grybowski of Fall River, Ma. and his daughter Jessica Ortiz, and her grandson Brian Moran and his sister Alicia Moran in Greenville. She leaves one brother Roland Rivet in Tennessee, and a sister Theresa Rivet in Pascoag RI. and many nieces and nephews. Delia was predeceased by her son-in-law Francis S. Grybowski, her brothers Edgar, Frederick, Robert, Henry Rivet, and her sisters, Yvonne, Cecile Plante, Anita Jarvais, Claire Dominique, Lucille Ducharme, Muriel Trinque, Eva Soucy, Rose Morris, Irene, and Laura Rivet.

The family would like to thank Delia's doctors, the nurses at Steere House along with the CNA's and Hope Health Care for making her comfortable in her last days here with us. I'd like to also thank the Activity people, Lauren from Hope Health and her constituents, nurse Uka, Carmen on the 1st floor at Steere House and the pastors that also prayed with her.
